The other day I had written a post about
the semantics of critical thinking that was pretty well received. I included a model of the elements of critical thinking, created by the folks over at the Foundation for Critical Thinking. The next day I found a lot of email in my inbox from people I did not know. They were thanking my for posting the tool, so I thought I would post it here at home in Gainesville too.
If you click on
this link the real model of the image below will open. Or you can click on the link to my wordpress blog above and click on the graphic there to open the tool. Once you have it open in a browser window, just pass your mouse pointer over any part of the graph and it will open useful and instructive information that speaks to obtaining clarity of thought.

The point of my earlier post was to show how hard critical thinking is to do and to suggest how nice it would be if we had computer-assisted critical thinking. I adopted the acronym C-ACT for this. Remember now, you heard that acronym here first, C-ACT is a disruptive technology so you won't find it on anyone's radar yet, but given a little luck in winning some resources and getting people on board with the idea, it is not far off.
