Professional Experiences & Goals: Over 35 years experience in intellectual property law, much of it focussed on assisting startups and smaller companies address their needs, from portfolio building to doing licensing, joint venture and collaboration and deals with other companies, to litigating when it becomes necessary.

I have considerable experience protecting all sorts of computer-oriented and communications-related inventions, both hardware and software, semiconductors, instrumentation (including medical-related) and other "electrical" technologies, as well as cross-over technologies with a physical sciences component. I am well known for devising and executing effective strategies, often involving multi-flavored IP protection coupled with licensing programs. Others in our firm deal with life sciences, chemistry and other technologies outside my personal areas of expertise.

How did you hear about GAINnet and what are your interests?: Patti Breedlove, Associate Director of the UF Sid Martin Incubator, having heard of my work with startups, suggested I get in touch whei GAINnet and make known my presence and the presence of my firm. We are here at UF's invitation, to help entrepreneurs. When possible (scheduling is an issue), we'd like to get ot know local entrepreneurs and the innovation community. Initially, if we can get a schedule for your Startup Hours, we will try to be in town for those events. However, anyone can call or e-mail at any time.
