Googlerola analysis: wireless infrastructure next step

Posted on August 18, 2011 at 12:42pm 0 Comments

"Googlerola" will do for wireless broadband devices/services what Apple did for computing. To succeed they must get past the 'choke point' -- infrastructure. A dedicated wireless broadband infrastructure will have to be built to support the market. Sound grandiose? Motorola beat Bell Labs in 1983 with the first deployed cellular system. Demand has outstripped 'tower coverage' since that time but the industry grew as users grudgingly accepted the conveniences along with the limitations. A…

Keith,

I don't play the business game anymore.  My body has been beaten up in many accident's, and arthritus has set in.   I'm asking you, can you help me find a partner to change the world?

Hi Keith! Thank you for the comment. I am working on large solar farms up north (outside of Florida) that are in the 500 kW range and larger. I also started a biogas/anaerobic digestion company to build biogas facilities in North Carolina and South Carolina based on farm waste. The one renewable energy I have not been heavily involved with has been wind or wind power systems. My solar website is www.IREsolar.com and my biogas company is www.IREbiogas.com

Sorry Keith, I presumed this was a site for innovation, and entrepreneurs. I thought others with the same out of the box thinking would enjoy what I had developed, and hopefully find some one to run that venture. You say I spammed, I say I put up contact information for someone to help me change the way business is done. If I spammed, sorry.

I flew military aircraft for 10yrs. I flew scouts, transport, and attack aircraft. I started and sold Four small business ventures, and retired 10yrs ago. As for the reason my interested in Gainesville. I moved here to help a young boy straighten up his life.

For the details of the business model, for the most part, they are proprietary.

That is great that you are re-starting Aikido practice. Actually, Huffman Sensei was not teaching Iaido until I contacted him in 2008/2009 to inquire about finding a teacher in Gainesville, since I had been undergoing intensive practice in Boston before I moved to Gainesville in July 2007. I have great respect for Huffman Sensei as an Aikidokai. I went to the first few Iaido classes that he taught and it was not for me. In Boston, I trained on Saturday mornings from 8-11 am. My teacher was a master in Aikido, Kyudo and Iaido. In fact I met him when I started Kyudo training with the Boston area group. His emphasis on taking both a respectful, spiritual and technical approach to the tradition of Muso Jikiden Eishen Ryo Iaido, the most common school of Iaido practiced in Japan, as handed down to him from his teachers with whom he started training while in the military based in Japan and with whom he still goes on a regular basis for examination (they don't use rankings in the tradition "belt" fashion; but they have titles to indicate level of proficiency and certification to teach). Huffman Sensei's sessions are about an hour long. There is no effort to teach one of the most critical aspects of martial arts training, which is showing respect to the Shomen, the teacher and the sword (3 bows done both standing and sitting). It's a great workout, no doubt. But then Iaido becomes just a sport. For me it is a form of zen practice in motion. Huffman Sensei also mixes techniques from multiple schools of swordsmanship including Aikido/Aikikai and Kendo, which both have a very basic set of kata that even these martial arts schools rarely teach and have largely abandoned. He does not base his Iaido practice on any recognizable school of Iaido that is practiced in Japan or any other country including the US. I just feel that especially for young students, spending time to learn proper respect and attitude in training is important.

Hi Keith. I'm glad you like my Logo and tag line. I came up with them when I was doing my residency and fellowship training at the Mass General Hospital in Boston. Your bio is fascinating. You've done so many interesting things. I'm quite familiar with Alport's syndrome. Is there any hearing loss associated with the affected individuals in your family? I think that aside from kidney transplantation, there is increasing knowledge from research about how to slow down or even therapeutically treat genetic diseases of the kidney such as Alport's and Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney disease. Advances are happening quickly (although it always seems like not quickly enough) because of new technology platforms that are being developed and a more humble appreciation for the levels of complexity that go beyond the human genome sequence. I will look into the UF/FloridaWorks Kauffman Foundation Fast Trac Seminar and entrepreneur training. It's my goal to better understand how to start, manage and foster the success of Prometheon Pharma. I have a strong sense of the importance of the "social mission" to help close the health disparities gap worldwide. It is not antithetical to entrepreneurship. That is why I have adopted the private-public partnership paradigm. Let's keep in touch. And thanks again for sending me your comment. I love the design of your GAINnet page. I have an undergraduate student who will start to build the website for Prometheon Pharma. It's a steep learning curve for me. But that's the fun of it. Cheers, Steve.
