Professional Experiences & Goals: My company, Competira, focuses on written and oral business communication. I specialize in developing and editing both internal and external documents, including web content, form letters, proposals, and presentations. Since 2002, I served as a freelance writer and marketing consultant for various businesses and individuals, including website design and development companies, brokerage firms, independent artists, and publishing corporations. My clients represented a tremendous variety of businesses, and I was, therefore, exposed to a range of topics and assignments covering everything from assisting a budding artist promote his first exhibition to writing an article about economic capital for the Canadian Institute of Actuaries.

Prior to that, I was Director of Interactive Media at Livewire Communications, where I supervised a staff of six programmers and designers; assisted with the conception and execution of all projects by managing site production and communicating strategies, ideas, and changes to both staff members and clients; and, ensured that both the clients’ and the department’s budgets remained on track. I also have extensive experience in the medical field, which I gained while working as a communications coordinator for SHANDS Healthcare. There, I served as a liaison between medical professionals and marketing executives, wrote and edited articles for both medical and lay audiences, developed content for brochures and in-house marketing materials, and spearheaded the redesign and restructuring of the SHANDS Healthcare website.
