Hello. I'm new to GAIN, and I'm intrigued with the concept of social entrepreneurship. I would love to meet people who are involved within it and learn more about social entrepreneurship. If you have any more meetings, please let me know.

We have been working on one for two years that is nearly ready for prime time,  Trying to raise the Capital for a Social Entrepreneurial based program has not been easy we are self funded and also rely on volunteers and donations at present.

Have you had any dealings with programs covered by the Hearth Act 2009 or with the NASA engineers retraining program?

Thank you for the welcome!  I work for the Florida Institute for Workforce Innovations, we are a non-profit organization that is the One-Stop Operator for the Regional Workforce Board, has the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) contract for 16 counties in North Central Florida, runs the YouthBuild program in Alachua County, and we also opened the Melrose Senior Community Center this past April.

I happened upon a new social  entrepreneur.

Has anyone here heard about the Win-Win Revolution for national reform.  Can anyone here offer any comments on this political reform movement by the ex Micorsoft executive Rick Raddatz.  I find his political goals and principles quite appealing. I wonder who has a dissenting opinion that I would like to hear, as I found no  fault in what I watched and read so far.

It seems to me the ideal of social entrepreneurship lives in this man.

Welcome Makaya, I had great hopes for this group but activity just never got started.  

If you have or want to start a non -profit, a for  Benefit  corporation or help others run theirs.

I believe  there is a way for an entrepreneur to provide a framework of a viable profit making organization, This framework and the profits reinvest themselves into a community. I also believe that good intentions  can go awry or change as new people come on board.

People are the soul of a corporation they provide its aims and its moral compass. 

I would set up pretty strong guidelines in a companies charter and mission statement about what it is trying to achieve and how much people can get paid.  Roy Wagner
