Netroots Rising: Grassroots Communications in a Digital World

Speaker Line-up:
Richard Mintz, Regional Vice President of Blue State Digital, will speak on the use of Web and social networks. Blue State Digital managed the online fundraising, constituency-building, issue advocacy and peer-to-peer online networking aspects of Obama’s 2008 Presidential campaign.
Jane Adams, Vice President of University Relations for the University of Florida, will talk about the importance of building grassroots support as part of UF’s legislative effort.
Ron Sachs, president of Ron Sachs Communications, will talk about the dark side of digital and Web communications. He’ll look at the challenges the Web presents when it comes to establishing relationships, and the challenges of dealing with audiences varying in age from 8 to 80.
Justin Sayfie, publisher of www.sayfiereview.com, will discuss the impact of digital communications on the political scene in Tallahassee and throughout the state. The SayfieReview is a “must read” for all politicians and lobbyists in Florida. This online publication was started as Sayfie’s blog several years ago.
