RTI Biologics, Inc.

In 2008, Regeneration Technologies and Tutogen Medical completed a merger to form RTI Biologics, Inc. (RTI) and became the leading provider of sterile biological implants for surgeries around the world. RTI’s corporate communications team developed and implemented an internal campaign to communicate the merger plans to the combined, global employee base which now consists of more than 750 employees. The campaign, which was a Grand All Image Winner at the local level, highlights best practices in internal communications.

About Wendy Crites Wacker
Wendy Crites Wacker, APR is the director of corporate communications for RTI. Wendy’s role at RTI includes directing a staff of four conducting all corporate communications, which include investor relations, government relations, donor community communications, donor family services, internal communications, media relations, community relations and general corporate public relations. Prior to joining RTI in 2000, Wendy’s experience included technology public relations at a software company, graphic design, and fundraising and public relations for a non-profit healthcare facility.
Wendy served as president of the Gainesville Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) in 2004-05 and has served twice on FPRA’s statewide Executive Committee – as vice president of professional development in 2005-06 and vice president of chapter services in 2007-08. Wendy resides in Gainesville, Fla. with her husband and twin sons.
