Hello GAINnet Community,

My name is Andre Norman, founder of fuelbyte.com.  One of the many features I’m trying to accomplish with FuelByte, is to facilitate how we network and share ideas. If you’re already familiar with Kickstarter.com, well my mission is to provide the same crowd funding platform but at the same time I also want to offer the service to already established companies to market their innovative products or services.

I’m trying to build an entrepreneurial community and also want to challenge people to think innovatively. Yourself or anyone would be able to create challenges and hand out awards or capital. In the long run, my motto is, “seeing is believing.” Behind that statement, I’m trying to encourage companies and everyone to stand apart. As a UF Mechanical Engineering grad, one of the problems I had while job hunting, was figuring out a way to effectively highlight my skills with multiple bullet points on a resume and at the same time, not fully knowing what the job entails that I’m applying to. To me that process was very inefficient and my goal is to change the way companies, students or anyone would conduct this process. I believe that creating a video profile of yourself to show the audience who you are and what you can do is much more effective. Basically a creative video resume or job posting. Companies, students or anyone would be able to network in their respected fields at ease with this process. So with that in mind, I'm searching for a Technical Co-Founder from the UF student body or Gainesville community to bring this idea to life. I'm close to launching the website but I foresee future tweaks/maintenance ahead. With a technical (web designer/developer) person on my team, maintenance would be a slim issue with running the website. I was recommended by UF Warrington to reach out to this community if had any questions. So if you know of anyone who'd be interested in joining my team, I would greatly appreciate it if you could send them my way. So far I've been a jack of all trades when it comes to getting this website up and running, so also if you know of anyone (recent grads, business, marketing, writer, legal, etc.) who'd be interested in joining a startup, feel free to send them my way. Thanks for you help!

I'm trying to understand what you do -

A crowdfunding website...that does video resumes...that allows people to network with employers?

I think I must be confused.

Michael, essentially fuelbyte will be an innovation hub for innovative people. People will come there to share their ideas and have investors invest in them (crowdfunding section). The webisite is not strickly for crowdfunding, established start-ups/companies that dont need investors, but have an innovative product/service can utilize the marketing section of the website. But innovation doesn't stop there. You and I could create challenges to challenge people to think innovatively.
In the end and in theory, now that there is a sustainable entrepreneurially community in tact, users will be able to network with the community around. For example, a start up receives 100K from crowdfunding to create a product or an established company saw their sales booming from marketing on the website. For both scenarios, those company might need a web designer to create a website or hardware designer, engineers, etc. Users will be able to network with that company if they wish to join their team. But to effectively network with someone, I beleive you should create a video profile of yourself to really stand out. This feature could also be utilized by people who wish to form a team and work on challenges. The use of the video profile portion is endless. Sorry for rambling on but hopefully you got the gist. If not, we could talk personally and I'll explain more.
