Gainesville Solar Installer Completes Photovoltaic Course from FSEC

Alex Khokhlov, Co-Director of Power Production Management, has completed the “Installing Photovoltaic Systems” course of study presented by the Florida Solar Energy Center (FSEC) in Cocoa, Florida.

The Installing Photovoltaic Systems course covers the design and installation of photovoltaic (PV) systems, and involves actual hands-on work with PV systems and equipment. This program is intended for contractors, electricians, utilities, engineers and other practitioners, with an overall goal of developing "system-knowledgeable" professionals to help ensure the safety and quality of PV system installations.

Alex Khokhlov, an immigrant from Russia who co-founded Power Production Management (PPM) in 2009 says, “I believe this course and certificate represents the company's commitment to our customers and the community to uphold quality products, service and professionalism.”

Power Production Management is a local full-service solar contracting company with a NABCEP certified solar installer and three State of Florida licensed contractors on staff.

The Florida Solar Energy Center(FSEC) was created by the Florida Legislature in 1975 to serve as the state’s energy research institute. The main responsibilities of the center are to conduct research, test and certify solar systems and develop education programs. FSEC has been approved by the North American Board of Certified Practitioners (NABCEP) as a provider of the NABCEP Photovoltaic Entry Level Certificate of Knowledge examination.

The North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) is the “gold standard” for PV and solar thermal installation certification. Designed to raise industry standards and promote consumer confidence, NABCEP offers certification and certificate programs to renewable energy professionals throughout North America.
