The first annual GAIN "Shoot-Out" will give area start-ups and venture stage businesses the chance to present their business to a collection of prominent Venture Capitalists from across the southeast and other investors, entrepreneurs and service providers.
Sixteen applicants will be selected to participate, and will begin by presenting to one of 4 panels of mentors (who have extensive experience in either hearing or giving investor presentations) that will offer constructive critique and help you improve your pitch. Each group of mentors will select one presenter to move on to the Final Shoot-Out where your 12-minute presentation will be heard by a large gathering of local business people and evaluated by a panel of "Big Gun" judges (VC's and others from around the South). The judges will select this year's Shoot Out winner. The winner will get $500 cash, plus $1500 in free legal services and the soon-to-be-famous "Top Gun Hat".
The afternoon will also feature informative educational sessions for entrepreneurs and innovators, and the evening presentation finals will include a cocktail party and sit-down dinner -- all at the elegant Harn Museum of Art (proving that we don't want to take the rugged cowboy metaphor too far!)
Think you and your presentation has what it takes to be this year's Top Gun? Apply here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dGtUcjFwOHV1dG...
