Thanks to everyone who helped make Fast Pitch 2011 a success! Congratulations to Thierry Dubroca of Delta-R Detection, who took home the Fast Pitch "Most Valuable Pitcher" bat for the year -- good job Thierry!! Thierry beat out finalists Steve Greenstein (Caregiver Watch) Michael Amish (Barrels of Hope) and Eric Layton (International Renewable Energy) in a very close final result.
Thanks to all of our judges who volunteered their evening to provide advice and mentoring for the 11 pitchers -- and thanks to Augi Lye and Ted Astleford for once again hosting another fun Start-up Hour afterwords. I think it was a good time had by all and we're looking forward to next year's Fast Pitch.
Stay tuned for two major upcoming GAIN events: The GAIN Shoot-out in October and a "Start-Up Weekend" in February, presented by GAIN, the Gainesville CRA and the Kaufmann Foundation. The Shoot-Out event will offer later stage start-ups the chance to compete for an opportunity to present to a panel of Venture Capital investors and others from through-out the Southeast. Watch for announcements on details very soon.
