More about AGTC:

The Company demonstrated initial clinical proof of concept when its lead indication, for treatment of Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (Alpha 1 an inherited form of emphysema), completed enrollment with
a positive safety profile and evidence of sustained protein expression. The Phase II trial began in 2010 and is designed as a dose escalation trial to obtain sustained and efficacious levels of protein expression. AGTC’s ophthalmology focus began in 2004 with an agreement to develop therapies for
Wet Age-Related Macular Degeneration with Genzyme; a Phase I trial is currently underway. AGTC’s independent ocular program for the treatment of Leber’s Congenital Amaurosis (LCA) recently demonstrated safety and clinical proof of concept with sustained expression of RPE65 in the clinic and a Phase II trial began in 2009. AGTC augmented their ophthalmology portfolio by initiating
preclinical testing of treatments for two genetic forms of retinal degeneration. The Company has a strong intellectual property position; its patents protect not only the therapeutic delivery system, but also specific product compositions, genes, delivery methods and proprietary, commercial-scale
production methods. AGTC’s mission is to combine this portfolio with unmatched scientific and clinical expertise to create and bring new healthcare products to the ophthalmology market.
