JOB SUMMARY
The Contract Administrator is responsible for managing contracts, supplier negotiation,
negotiating contract terms and conditions, supplier management, collaboration with internal
departments and communications with government contracting agencies. This position is responsible for managing the contract database and all associated files. Duties include assisting with contract development, administration, tracking and analysis, contract compliance and evaluation of supplier performance.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Become familiar with Banyan products and services through meetings with clinical and scientific personnel.
  • Review files and contract plans to determine what data should be transferred to Contract Administration.
  • Monitor Government Contracts for purpose of identifying potential contract compliance problems.
  • Direct activities concerned with contracts for purchase or sale of equipment, materials, products and services.
  • Examine performance requirements, delivery schedules, and estimates of costs of material, equipment, and production to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Compile data for preparing estimates.
  • Prepare bids, process specifications, test and progress reports, and other exhibits that may be required.
  • Reviews bids from other firms for conformity to contract requirements and determine acceptable bids.
  • Negotiate contract with bidder.
  • Request or approve amendments to or extensions of contracts.
  • Monitor vendor performance and make recommendations for improvement when appropriate.
  • Advise clinical and scientific personnel of contractual rights and obligations.
  • Act as liaison between company and subcontractors.
  • Prepare and / or assist with the preparation of budgets and analysis of actual results compared to budgets.
  • Prepare and distribute reports and statistical data to facilitate planning and maintenance of accurate contract records and files.
  • Insure that all documents, questionnaires and reports related to the administration of contracts are promptly filed with Government and other proper authorities and that files are maintained in an orderly manner.
  • Insure that documents supporting allocation are maintained in accordance with Banyan policies. Insure that deviation from Banyan policy is approved in writing by the Chief Executive Officer.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS AND/OR EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Medical Sciences or equivalent work experience required.
  • Experience in Government Contracting required.
  • Training in Quality Assurance.
  • Knowledge of the clinical trial process.
  • Familiarity with the biotechnology industry.
  • Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations, Department of Defense Acquisition Regulations, and General Service Administration Acquisition Regulations (GSAR).
  • Knowledge of contract law.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project Manager, MS Powerpoint, Adobe Acrobat.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to work on projects independently.
  • Current state driver's license.
  • Satisfy criminal background check and drug screening per state requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
