As it gets harder and harder to find funding to move your innovation from the bench to the marketplace, SBIR grants are more important than ever. If you need some help in making SBIR funding a reality, or in perfecting your ability to compete for these awards, join us for our up coming SBIR commercialization workshop for both newcomers and veterans of SBIR/STTR.
SBIR (Small Business Innovation Research) is a federal program administered by 10 agencies for the purpose of helping to provide early-stage Research and Development funding to small technology companies or individuals who are interested in forming a company. The federal government will spend more than $2.2 billion on SBIR and STTR awards this year. Reauthorization has brought about many changes, so even if you are familiar with SBIR you won’t want to miss this workshop.
The program is divided into three parts. We start with a complimentary overview of the SBIR/ STTR programs recommended for first-time attendees, and as an optional review for those already familiar with the programs. The remainder of the day will be an intensive workshop covering federal government accounting and the all-important SBIR/STTR cost proposal. The day closes with an optional tour of the Florida Innovation Hub at UF.
