CaregiverWatch LLC
CaregiverWatch, LLC, a pre-revenue Florida limited liability corporation, is developing advanced nighttime alert and in-home tracking systems targeted specifically to assist the caregivers (CG) of individuals with cognitive impairment (i.e., Alzheimer’s disease and Autism Spectrum Disorders). CaregiverWatch, has developed AlzAlert™ a night home monitoring system that monitors ambulatory patterns in the care recipient and uses the analysis of these patterns to generate alerts to the caregivers of the care recipient location in the home. AlzAlert™ also provides emergency alerts when outside doors are opened. In a clinical trial, use of AlzAlert™ resulted in an 86% reduction in nighttime events such as falls and home exits in persons with dementia, such as Alzheimer's disease. This system was developed by a nurse researcher based on extensive clinical experience of the needs of the caregivers and persons with dementia. The features and operation of the system emerged from this experience and extensive pilot testing.
