WHO IS BOOKER SCHMIDT?!
Booker Schmidt is the Executive Director of the Gainesville Technology Enterprise Center. Mr. Schmidt brings to GTEC more than 30 years of diversified entrepreneurial, legal and business consulting experience. His experience includes working with more than 128 technology startup companies throughout the U.S. and structuring, negotiating and consummating complex transactions, including venture-capital financing, strategic alliances, acquisitions and technology licenses.
In Tampa, in the 1990s, Mr. Schmidt was a highly rated attorney practicing law principally in the areas of tech startup companies, mergers & acquisitions and licensing and technology acquisitions. Mr. Schmidt also initiated and organized strategic alliances between small biotech companies and Fortune 500 corporations during most of the 1980s.
Mr. Schmidt received his Juris Doctor, with honors, from the University of Tulsa and his B.A. in Business Administration from Vanderbilt University.
